Game Artist 

We are expanding our Game Studio and looking for a Game Artist to join us for full-time job and with permanent contract. As a Game Artist you will be part of our enthusiastic and highly skilled Game Development team developing top-notch real-money games using modern tools provided by Veikkaus’ Game Development Tools & UX Team. The games you create will be widely distributed, including both land-based and online distribution channels. 

As a game artist, you will be part of a small game development team focused on creating new and exciting games. Work is done in close cooperation with game artists, other game developers, producers as well as other teams like our backend team, concept team and QA. Our typical game team consists of 2 game developers, 2 game artists, and a game producer. Work is usually done in a Scrum/Kanban inspired manner. However, the team has a freedom to organize their workflow as fits them best. We work in a hybrid model with a few days on-site per week. 

As a game artist, you will design and create games with great visuals, animations, effects, and feel. Your responsibilities will include

• Together with your team define and design the game’s visual look within given specifications.
• Creating art assets within agreed-upon artistic style and guidelines. You and your team will be responsible for producing all game assets.
• Ownership in the scheduling and meeting of deadlines, both daily and project-wide.
• Communicating and cooperating with producers and the rest of your team in turning your ideas into brilliant games.

You will have the support of senior and lead artists, but you will have freedom and responsibility for your own work. We have a steady backlog of great games waiting to be made and if you are the talented visual generalist we are looking for – we cannot wait to meet you. 

We expect from you:

• 1+ years of professional game art experience
• Excellent skills in making digital art (2D, 3D, or even both)
• Basic 2D animation skills 
• Excellent eye for visuals
• Understanding of art production methods and pipelines
• Understanding of production from start to finish
• Good communication and teamwork skills

Considered a plus:

• Traditional art background
• Previous experience with Spine
• Excellent animation skills
• Experience in creating visual effects
• Familiar with scripts/code
• An eye for game design
• Passion for games
