Senior Developer (Game Studio)

We are expanding our Game Development team and looking for a Senior Game Developer to join our team. As a Senior Developer, you will be part of our enthusiastic and highly skilled Game Development team developing top-notch real-money games using modern tools provided by Veikkaus’ Game Development & Tech Support Team. The games you create will be widely distributed, including both land-based and online distribution channels. 

Our typical game team consists of 2 game developers, 2 graphical artists, and a game producer. Work is usually done in a Scrum/Kanban-inspired manner, however the team has a freedom to organize their workflow as fits the best.

As a Senior Developer, your responsibilities will include project planning, code quality, game experience, and acting as a contact point within the game team. You will work in close collaboration with Producers, Graphic Designers, Backend Team, Concept Team, and QA. You will design architecture, evaluate the feasibility of requested features and enforce the use of best practices and shared components. You will be the driving force of the project and ensure that things run smoothly for the whole team. You can fine-tune the game experience e.g. by adjusting the timing and rhythm of the game.

We expect from you:

Previous Game development experience 

Typescript experience

Basic knowledge of git

Passion for creating world-class games

Good communication skills

Considered as a plus:

Background and knowledge on C++ and JAVA 

Familiarity with cloud services (GCP, AWS)

Experience with game engines (Unity, Unreal, etc.)

Knowledge and understanding of Linux environment

A public GitHub profile or similar

Our office is located in Pohjois-Haaga, Helsinki, Finland. Traditionally we have preferred on-site working, but during COVID-19 situation we have introduced various agile remote working methods.

Veikkaus as a company will perform a drug test, credit information check, and security clearance check (According to the Act on Security Clearance (726/2014)) to the person selected for the position.
