Product Designer, Game Development Tools & UX

Veikkaus TECH department is searching a Product Designer (Game Development Tools & UX) for permanent and full-time employment.

Join our team of 23 skilled professionals! We build comprehensive casino game development solutions, including in-house frontend rendering libraries, release pipelines and various tools to improve game development processes. Important aspect of the work is productization and product centric approach; creating and maintaining high-quality products that meet customer needs and preferences. Our team also works closely with Veikkaus’ subsidiary Fennica Gaming to bring our games to international audiences.

We are now looking for a Product Designer to join our agile design and development team. As a part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing solutions (UX and UI development work for our online casino games and slot machines, among other areas), guidelines, and continuous improvement of best practices related to our current and future gaming products and services. Your role, product team and work assignments will be shaped according to your strengths and interests.

Main responsibilities include:

• Lead the design process for new and existing cloud-based SaaS products 
• Conduct user research and usability testing to gather feedback and insights to refine the product design
• Analyze customer feedback, user data, and market trends to identify pain points and opportunities for enhancing the product experience
• create intuitive, user-friendly, and visually compelling interfaces that align with the product’s vision and business goals
• Develop wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that effectively communicate design ideas and user flows to stakeholders
• Validate design choices and measure the effectiveness of design solutions using appropriate methods

We expect from you:

• Strong portfolio and 5+ years of experience in product centric design with digital products
• Understanding of agile methodologies and philosophy
• Good documentation skills and natural ability to communicate with users in order to find the best possible user experience
• Interest and ability to conduct different types of user studies (questionnaires, observations, qualitative research etc.)
• Strong knowledge of design systems and applications (we use Figma as a design software)
• Experience in light UI-prototyping
• Good visualization skills (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator or similar)
• An appropriate degree (BA/MA or similar polytechnic degree) or otherwise acquired appropriate competence

Considered as a plus:

• Experience from gaming industry or developing digital products in B2C environment
• UI Animation skills (2D/3D)
• Ability to implement your designs with CSS
