Job description

Lyngsoe Systems’ Business Unit Library has been and will continue to be on a growth path by offering libraries great solutions. The recent acquisition of the P.V. Supa group has further expanded our market reach both direct and through distribution partners globally. We want to expand our product portfolio in a structured, market-relevant direction to build a true global footprint.

As Product Manager for the main part of the product portfolio, you will become a key person in the Library unit, identifying market needs and translating these into product road maps and product specifications. Understanding customer needs and business acumen must be in perfect balance.

You will become part of a competent, technical team, with colleagues who are highly knowledgeable within their respective domains, so if your profile is a good balance between understanding intelligent technology and good business, then you will fit right in.

As Product Manager you are expected to travel to understand customers and market needs, as well as interact with your colleagues in direct contact with many customers. It is also expected that you have a strong cooperation with the development teams, making the road maps happen.

Your primary place of work will be either in Aars, Denmark, or Kerava, Finland, where the development centers in Lyngsoe Library are located. You will report directly to the Business Unit Director.

You will be responsible for identifying market opportunities for products, which you generate the business case for in order to get approval for the developments.

You will also be responsible for ensuring USP’s, value propositions and relevant sales and marketing material for the products within your responsibility. As well as training your colleagues in these.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Strategic and operational management of the products within your portfolio
• Establishing and maintaining a forward-looking development road map
• Building business cases for new product developments
• Ensuring a competitive, coherent product offering for Lyngsoe direct and distributor business
• Provide market-driven functional and technical specifications
• Ensure products are designed for production and for service
• Drive Product development according to Lyngsoes Product stage gate model
• Product lifecycle management from idea to launch to phase out
• Prioritization of product maintenance and adaptions
• Market and competitor analysis
• Training of sales staff in product features, licensing, ways of selling the product etc.
• Ensure competitive sales documentation for direct and distributor sales
• Active coordination and work with all other functions around product development
• Accountability for the product profitability
• To ensure business acumen – including upselling opportunities, potential savings
• To ensure that the customer (internal or external) is satisfied by keeping deadlines, cost and features
• Cooperation in a team-oriented spirit with internal stakeholders and subject-matter experts

Desired skills and experience

• Solid experience with international product management including financial follow-up on projects
• Experience in transforming customer needs into profitable product business
• Considerable business acumen
• Good at maintaining an overall focus and to prioritize responsibilities
• Work proactively, carefully and structured
• Master Office suite at a high level
• Strong written and oral communication skills (corporate language is English)
