Building Enterprise Software for the Global Railway, Healthcare, and Cities Industry
I did not start i4ware® to build a startup around venture capital. I built it because software architecture and product development have been my dream profession for over 22 years (36 years if hobby software and video game development is included). Whenever I lacked a skill, I studied it and continued building.

Today, i4ware Software is a self-funded software company focused on developing enterprise SaaS products for global niche markets. Because the company is self-financed through its own revenue, there is currently little need for Venture Capital or Angel investment.
One example is i4ware® Timesheet for Jira for Railroad.
North America's largest rail operators represent a significant Enterprise software market. The seven largest railway companies employ approximately 172,000 professionals.
Potential customers include:
• BNSF Railway (~35,000)
• Union Pacific (~29,300)
• Canadian National (~23,800)
• CSX Transportation (~23,000)
• Amtrak (~22,000)
• Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) (~19,500)
• Norfolk Southern (~19,300)
Revenue Potential
Enterprise Data Center customers typically purchase annual software licenses worth tens of thousands of euros. Assuming an average annual license value of €100,000 per large railway operator:
• 1 customer ≈ €100,000/year
• 3 customers ≈ €300,000/year
• 5 customers ≈ €500,000/year
• 7 major North American rail operators ≈ €700,000/year
This estimate covers only the largest North American railway operators. Additional opportunities include regional railways, short line railroads, passenger rail operators, metro systems, infrastructure managers, and railway maintenance contractors across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
Estimated long-term market potential: €1–5+ million in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) if adopted by multiple enterprise railway organizations worldwide.
i4ware® Timesheet for Jira for Railroad is designed for enterprise workforce time tracking, approvals, project reporting, compliance, and ERP integrations for the railway industry.

• 1 customer ≈ €50,000–100,000/year

• 10 customers ≈ €500,000–1,000,000/year

• 50 customers ≈ €2.5–5 million/year
Estimated long-term market potential: €2–10+ million in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) if adopted by municipalities and public sector organizations across multiple countries.
The product is being developed using the same enterprise architecture and technology foundation as i4ware® Timesheet for Jira for Healthcare and i4ware® Timesheet for Jira for Railroad, enabling faster development, consistent user experience, and lower long-term maintenance costs.
My long-term strategy is to build a focused portfolio of enterprise products for industries where compliance, reporting, workforce management, and ERP integration are business-critical. Rather than pursuing rapid expansion through external investment, i4ware Software continues to grow through product development, paying customers, and sustainable recurring revenue.
My goal has never been to build a company as quickly as possible. My goal has been to build technically strong software products that solve real enterprise problems and create sustainable long-term business. Every product release is another step toward that vision.
